rlpr software package provides A utility for lpd printing without using /etc/printcap, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install rlpr
rlpr is installed in your system.
Make ensure the rlpr package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep rlpr *
You will get with rlpr package name, version, architecture and description in a table
